Thunderstorm

The skies are turning quiet
And it's the kind of quiet that's eerie
It's like the sky wanted to tell a story
But her words are masked under the dull
that surrounds her entire body.
You try to find a word, maybe a glimpse of colour
But they're all lost
Lost in the quiet that surrounds her.

I've looked too far into the sky
I've looked too long to find
The words stolen from her
and wrapped inside a sigh
that slips from her mouth,
dripping down her body
You call it rain.

But I say its nothing more than pain
Which falls on the earth with the crackling of the thunder
Which makes the leaves swirl and dance under
the trees swaying wildily
the birds screeching with agony
It's the beginning of a storm.
Why do you look surprised?

You said the sky looked quiet, you thought it would stay that way

No.

There was pain where you just saw rain
Yes, the skies were quiet,
Yes, the skies were calm.
But this was just the calm before the onset of thunderstorm.
